What is the Adhan app?
Adhan is an Android app by Spectra Apps for Muslim daily worship. It brings together local prayer times, prayer reminders, an offline Quran reader with Arabic and English, a Qibla compass, a tasbeeh counter and prayer history. It supports Android 9 and newer.
Does Adhan work offline?
The Quran is included with the app and can be read offline after first-time setup. The Qibla compass uses your saved location and a supported device sensor. Prayer times need an internet connection to download a schedule; the downloaded month is then available offline. A new month or location requires a fresh download.
Which prayer time calculation methods can I use?
Adhan offers 19 calculation methods, including Muslim World League, ISNA, University of Islamic Sciences in Karachi, Umm Al-Qura in Makkah, Egyptian General Authority of Survey, MUIS in Singapore and JAKIM in Malaysia. Choose the convention followed by your local mosque in Settings. Timings vary by location and calculation method.
How do prayer reminders work?
Adhan schedules reminders for 15 minutes before each of the five daily prayers. You can enable or disable each prayer reminder and the Adhan sound in Settings. Allow notifications on your phone. Android battery and background restrictions can delay reminders, so delivery is not guaranteed at an exact minute.
Which Quran languages are available in the reader?
The current reader displays Arabic with vowel marks and an English translation. Browse all 114 surahs, search the Quran, adjust the Arabic font size and bookmark individual ayahs for later reading. Quran audio recitation is not currently included.
How does the Qibla compass work?
It calculates the direction of the Kaaba from your saved location and uses your phone’s rotation sensor to orient the compass. Use a phone with a supported sensor, keep it away from magnets and metal, and calibrate it when needed. Compass accuracy depends on your phone and surroundings.
Is Adhan free? Does it have ads?
Adhan is free to download and includes ads. Optional Adhan Pro purchases remove ads. Available plans and local prices are shown in the app through Google Play. You can use the prayer, Quran, Qibla and tasbeeh features without creating an Adhan account.
